MAX-TRAN® allows the operator to maximize the amount of weight that is transferred from a railcar to the Trackmobile®, regardless of whether the railcar is fully loaded, partially loaded or empty.
The name MAX-TRAN® is derived from “Maximum Transfer”. This system functions by sensing when the change in pressure begins to reduce, due to the railcar being nearly lifted off its suspension, or when the pressure nears the system maximum.
At this point, the cylinder is momentarily dropped to assure that some weight is on the suspension of the railcar trucks. This process is referred to as “Autolift”.
The front and rear lift sub-systems may be set in either the AUTO(matic) or MANUAL modes by activation/deactivation of the appropriate MAX-TRAN® Switch located on the Instrument Control Panel.
